Objectives of Irrigation

Objective of Irrigation:

1. General development of the country.

2. The deficiency of water that occur due to insufficient rainfall is removed by irrigation work.

3. Increase the food production.

4. Elimination of mixed cropping.

5. Provide enough amount of water to the plants which is important for its growth

6. Increase the revenue of country.

7. Create the condition suitable for Puddling.

8. Control harmful soil insects.

9. Leach or wash out injurious salts from the soil.

10. Maintain the temperature and humidity of the soil.
